Jake Sellinger
Head Coach
Coach Sellinger is entering his tenth season with the UCCS baseball program. He played on the 2017 inaugural team and finished his playing career in 2021 with a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament Championship. Coach Selly has a background in hitting, catching, outfield, base running, and overall player welfare.
Daniel Silva
Assistant Coach
Coach Silva is entering his 3rd year as the Pitching Coach for the Mountain Lions. He played on the 2017 inaugural UCCS Baseball team and completed his college career with a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship in 2021. He went on to pitch for three seasons with the Idaho Falls Chukars in the Pioneer League. Before embarking on his professional career Coach Silva spent five years with the UCCS Baseball program. Silva remains the UCCS Baseball program leader in Strikeouts (241), Wins (22), ERA (4.88), Appearances (63), Starts (48), Shutouts (2), and Innings Pitched (320.2).
Alex Bates
Assistant Coach
Coach Bates played for the Mountain Lions until graduating in 2021. Coach Bates has experience with hitters, infielders, and base running. He was born and raised in Japan until his parents moved to Ruidoso, New Mexico.
Mike Carpenter
Assistant Coach
Coach Carp has been with UCCS since day one of the program. His duties include working with hitters, outfielders, and base running.
Jaren Gorsch
Assistant Coach
Coach Jaren is a Sophomore at UCCS and has experience with outfielders, hitters, and base running. Jaren is the Assistant Coach for the Underclass Catamounts.
Jason Van Kooten
Assistant Coach
Jason was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 46th Round of the 2003 MLB Draft. Jason primarily works with infielders, hitters, and base running.
